Audi Fashion Festival (AFF) Singapore will return for its fourth instalment this year from 16-20 May. Themed “Lighting the Future”, this year’s event will feature five show days and an exciting line-up with a mix of emerging and established top-class names from the international world of fashion.
The main highlight has to be the opening show, presented by avant-garde French fashion house Thierry Mugler. Guests will be treated to a presentation of Mugler’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection in the presence of Creative Director, Nicola Formichetti. Formichetti has been awarded the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at the British Fashion Awards 2010, and is well known for being stylist to the legendary pop icon of this generation, Lady Gaga and as Fashion Director in the Haus of Gaga. He is also consultant to many leading fashion brands including Alexander McQueen, Prada, D&G, Missoni and MAC.
Another major show is French designer Roland Mouret, who will bring its signature red carpet glamour to the festival. The designer counts many A-list clientele that includes Nicole Kidman, Sienna Miller and said to be the favourite designer of Victoria Beckham. Mouret has served as mentor to Victoria Beckham when she began designing her own collection of dresses. The French designer will be presenting his Autumn/Winter 2012 collection at the Audi Fashion Festival 2012, and captures perfectly the festival’s theme of Lighting the Future.
This year Audi Fashion Festival Singapore will also be introducing a revolutionary digital concept that will reinvent the business model for fashion consumers – Future Fashion Now (FNN). Created in collaboration with MasterCard Worldwide, it is a groundbreaking online fashion portal that lets consumers place their orders for the latest runway designs and pre-collections online, and have their orders custom-produced for delivery before the next season arrives in stores. Through FFN, consumers essentially become their own fashion buyers. This first-in-Asia portal will also provide upcoming designers and emerging labels a new platform to showcase their works, raise their profiles and sustain their creations, thereby increasing their visibility across the key Asian markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
Official Imaging Partner, Canon, will be presenting a showcase of international and Singapore designers for FFN, including Australia’s Yeojin Bae (Designer of the Year, L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival); Timo Weiland from New York (CFDA Incubator Program Designer) and Esther Perbandt from Berlin. Singapore designers Mae Pang and Max Tan will also present their Pre-Spring 2013 collection on FFN at the festival.
The festival will also see shows put up by RAOUL, alldressedup, Tiffany & Co and Swarovski as they showcases their latest collection of fashion and jewelry.
Another segment worth mentioning is the festival’s effort to supports new generation talent with the Parco Next NEXT showcase, featuring its new batch of fashion design incubator project designers, and Audi Star Creation 2011 Winners, Chen Zhigang, Tiang Boon Tieon and Tsai Ming Hung will be presenting their capsule collection at the festival.
