Saint Laurent – no, I mean Hedi Slimane -has surprised us once again with the latest Saint Laurent Music Project featuring B.B. King, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis, 3 American music legends from a genre one might not necessarily associate with the Parisian brand, of late. I mean looking at recent runway collections from the Saint Laurent, I thought that the brand is going for the uber cool, grungy rock and slightly underground image – think Daft Punk, Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love who were recently the faces of their Music Project.
For this campaign, Slimane created custom pieces for King, Berry, and Lewis, and then traveled around with the musicians to capture these amazing black and white images.
To join the dotted lines, the latest trio are childhood heroes of Slimane and he wanted on the relationship between Saint Laurent and rock, tracing back to the days when Yves Saint Laurent himself outfitted Mick and Bianca Jagger and for their wedding in 1971.
